Disposable spacer for spirometry

Recent study day. Mention of disposable spacers for spirometry does anyone use these?
Advise where best to purchase from?

Yes, they are so much cheaper and don't require preparation: do you know that volumatics fresh out of the wrapping and box have a static layer due to the wrapping, so you are meant to wash them and let air dry, then put back in box only (not wrapped), seal and label as "prepared for use". Otherwise some of the 4 puffs of salbutamol are lost to static and may not give as good bronchodilation as possible. I learnt this from Bev Bostock Cox, Respiratory Queen!!

Order from midmeds or Williams I think. I don't do the ordering but will find out if no one else posts - although of you do a search, it will come up as deffo been discussed on here.

My respiratory specialist in spiro clinic informed me that disposable spacers not adequate due to fact they are smaller and do not provide correct volume of air

I use DispozABLE spacers from Williams medical supplies. Much cheaper for the practice. Not suitable for patients to take home but great for reversibility testing. I do have to warn patients that if they are not careful, it falls apart quite easily, but easy to put back together again.
