We calculate the AfC index based on our 2009 salary survey
  1. The % of respondents using an AfC Band versus Whitley Grade (70%)
  2. The % of respondents whose salary was above the the published minimum salary for the band (77%)
  3. The % of respondents who received a Cost of Living Rise last year (50%)
  4. The % of respondents who received an Annual Increment last year (18%)
  5. The % of respondents who received an annual holiday entitlement* defined by Agenda for Change for service in their current practice (18%)
  6. The % of respondents who received pro rata equivalent of 8 days bank holiday (66%)
The AfC Index is the % of the survey who met all the criteria above. This attempts to measure the % of respondents whose practices have fully embraced Agenda for Change.

* Pro rata equivalent of 27 days (0-5 years service), 29 days (5-10 years service) or 33 days (>10 years service).
